We are a fully inclusive setting able to meet the needs of children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). The building has wheelchair access along with accessible toilet facilities.
Prior to starting, you and your child will be invited to settling in sessions where you can share information about your child and discuss any of your concerns. This will continue on a regular basis as we are committed to working in partnership with parents/carers.
We regularly observe, assess and monitor individual needs, progress and development of all children. This informs our planning and curriculum provision ensuring all children's needs are met.
Your child will receive support from a Key Person, the setting SENCO/ENCO and other outside agencies if necessary and where appropriate an One Plan will be put into place. We follow the principles of Early Support.
Staff regularly attend training courses such as Inclusion Development, Early Language Development and Promoting Positive Behaviour. Safeguarding and First Aid training are also undertaken to maintain up to date knowledge and practice. We are currently working towards the Good Beginnings: Early Years Autism Award.
We fully support transition through the nursery and also onto school by visits to your child's new room or school. We encourage teachers to visit our setting to get to know the children and share any relevant information.
We support a range of dietary requirements and allergies and will work with local professionals to use Epipens should these be required.
We have a vast amount of experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disbilities and supporting families. We would be happy to answer any further questions you may have.
