Keeping Children Safe Online

Children are growing up in a time where screens are everwhere and the internet plays a big part in their lives. This can be beneficial, they can learn new things, connect with friends and family, and have fun. However, it is important to have conversations on how to explore the online world safely. The NSPCC has created some useful resources to support keeping your children safe online.

Button Batteries

Button batteries react with saliva to make caustic soda, which is used to unblock drains. If a child swallows a button battery and it gets stuck in their food pipe, it can burn a hole. This causes internal bleeding and can be fatal. Keep button batteries out of the reach of children.

More information on keeping children safe from button batteries can be found on this link to the Office for Product Safety and Standards.
